Hey, y’all! Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas! It’s a very festive week and I hope you are all spending it with people you care about and food you enjoy.
Sorry I’ve been a little absent. I spent the weekend going to see The Rise of Skywalker and crying a little bit because the tiniest shred of my childhood that was hanging on finally went away. It’s hard to believe that I first heard that unforgettable music queue up with the Star Wars logo on the screen forty-two years ago, and then had my little five-year-old mind blown by special effects that are downright archaic now.
I had to set aside my reverie and prepare for Christmas, though. After baking two batches of cookies and treats, preparing my homemade enchilada sauce for the enchiladas I’ll be serving with my tamales on Christmas Eve, and wrapping every single gift, I FINALLY put up my Christmas tree. Better late than never, I suppose.
Thankfully, I spent all of last weekend making the tamales, so that cuts down just a smidge on what I have left to do.
I know a lot of you are feeling the pain spirit of Christmas as well, so I thought I’d kick off the festivities with this hilarious clip from SNL. I’m pretty sure 99% of us can relate!
Stay weird, my friends. Normal is boring. Happy Holidays!
