How Do I Love Thee?
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My cup can reach, when I’m not feeling right
For the grounds of being and ideal taste.
I love thee when nobody talks
Most quiet time, and after walks.
I love thee freely, as I strive to awake
I love thee purely, as I ignore their talk
I love thee with passion only caffeine makes.
In my old cup, and with renewed vigor
I love thee, oh my love, my sweet elixer.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my patience. Why must they interrupt?
I shall but love thee better after death.
Theirs.
If they don’t shut up.
Do You Like Your Coffee Black?
Do you like your coffee black?
I do not like it that way, Jack. I do not like my coffee black.
Do you like it here or there?
I love my coffee here or there. I love my coffee everywhere!
Do you like coffee in your house? Do you drink coffee with your spouse?
I love my coffee in my house. I drink my coffee with my spouse.
I love my coffee here or there. I love my coffee everywhere.
But I do not like my coffee black. It needs some cream and sugar, Jack.
Does your coffee come in a pod? Or does your coffee come in a can?
I love my coffee in a pod. But a can is good, too, and not very odd.
Would you, could you, in your car?
Drink it! Drink it! Here you are!
Yes I would drink it in my car
In my house
With my spouse
I would drink it here or there.
I would drink it everywhere.
But I would not drink my coffee black. It just needs something in it, Jack.
Drink it plain! Drink it plain!
Would you, could you, drink it plain?
Not plain. Not black. It’s got to have some sweetener, Jack.
How about dark? Would you drink it dark?
I would not, could not, drink it dark.
I cannot drink something so stark.
I need some cream to make it yummy. I need some sweetener for my tummy.
I’ll drink it steamed, or brewed or percolated.
From a pod at home or one of those drive-thru places.
I’ll drink it with flavor like pumpkin or mint
I’ll drink it with whip on top of it
I’ll drink it super hot, I’ll drink it iced cold
I’ll drink it from now until I’m old.
I’ll drink a frap, a latte or even capuccino
One shot, two shots, and here’s a chocolate coffee bean-o!
But do not give me my java black
Because you know I’ll send it back.
I will drink it here or there
And I will drink it anywhere.
But I will not drink my coffee black.
Now please go get my caffeine crack.
The Road Not Taken…Sort Of
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth
Then I went back home and drank more coffee
And that has made all the difference.

Perfect thing to read as I drink coffee from the oversized Betty Boop mug I got a zillion years ago (OK..only 10) from Universal Studios that one time.
Dark roasted coffee always tastes burned to me. Bleh.
If it doesn’t have at least 2 sugars and a drop of milk or creamer, I don’t want it.
Pumpkin Spice lattes are over rated, IMO. I tried one for the first time last October and it was..meh.

February 8, 2019 at 7:55 amI’m not crazy about the pumpkin spice at Starbucks but there’s a local place here that makes awesome ones!
